Hand-Drawn Satoyama Warmth: The Complete Visual Identity for Liugui Good Market 2025
Liugui Good Market is a local market hosted by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Pingtung Branch and run by the Baolai Cultural Association. Howdy Creative handled the full visual design, from key visual to on-site materials, using hand-drawn satoyama landscapes to speak to craft, local terroir, ecology and market life.

Challenge
The market spans forestry conservation, tourism, agriculture and craft, with more than a dozen supervising and co-organizing bodies to credit. The key visual had to carry four themes at once, satoyama ecology, local craft, terroir food and the market itself, while clearly fitting in a long list of organization names and program credits. Keeping that much information warm and inviting, rather than a stiff standard-issue poster, was the core design challenge.
Goal
Build a complete visual system around four themes, craft and living, terroir and food, ecological travel, and autumn gathering, extending from the key visual poster to invitation cards, stamp cards and pull-up banners, so visitors would recognize Liugui Good Market's satoyama mood at a glance while all that organizational information stayed clearly readable.

Approach
- Hand-illustrated the mountains, streams and fruit trees around Liugui's Shibaluohan Mountain area, using a rice, orange and green earth-tone palette to carry the warmth of an autumn satoyama gathering.
- Designed the 'HOMI@Liouguei' turtle-shaped market mark as the event's visual anchor, extending it across invitation cards, stamp cards and other materials.
- Extended the key visual system to a double-sided invitation card, a stamp and raffle card, on-site pull-up banners and booth signage, keeping one visual language from promotion through to the market floor.

Outcome
The full visual identity system was delivered on schedule, covering the key visual poster, double-sided invitation card, stamp and raffle card, and on-site pull-up banners and booth signage, giving the two-day 2025 Liugui Good Market at the Shibaluohan Mountain service area a consistent, warm satoyama market mood from promotion through to the event itself.
Questions people ask
about projects like this.
How do you keep a key visual attractive when it has to fit so many organization credits?
We sort the information hierarchy first, grouping organization names and logos into a fixed area of the layout, then leave the main illustration enough breathing room. That keeps a large amount of information clear and legible without sacrificing the overall warmth.
Why extend a market key visual to invitation cards and stamp cards?
It lets every piece of on-site material share the same visual language, so visitors start forming an impression of the market the moment they receive an invitation card, and see the same identity again at the stamp and raffle table, building a stronger brand memory overall.
